εργαστήρι για την cancellaresca στην Λευκωσία

Cancellaresca ή καγκελαριακή ή Italic 

Η cancellaresca είναι ο τύπος της γραφής που εξελίχθηκε στα σκριπτόρια της παπικής καγκελαρίας τον 15ο αιώνα συνεχίζοντας την παράδοση της Ουμανιστικής. Ο Ferdinando Ruano το 1554 αποκρυσταλλώνει την φόρμα της, την ονομάζει cancellaresca και γίνεται αμέσως δεκτή στους κύκλους των διανοούμενων και της ανώτατης τάξης.

Η καγκελαριακή είναι βασισμένη στο οβάλ σχήμα του σώματος των γραμμάτων της, ελαφρά επικλινής, είναι γραφή που ρέει και γράφεται με ρυθμό με την πένα να σηκώνεται ελάχιστα από το χαρτί. Με αυτά τα χαρακτηριστικά γίνεται η χειρόγραφη προέλευση των τυπογραφικών italics. Στο αρμονικό σώμα του κειμένου οι απολήξεις των γραμμάτων μπορούν να συνεχιστούν με θαρραλέες κινήσεις και να δώσουν μια εικόνα έντονα διακοσμητική με προσωπική διάσταση.

Η Ειρήνη Γκόνου γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα, σπούδασε στην École Natιοnale Superieure des Beaux-Arts και στην École Nationale Superieure des Arts Décoratifs στο Παρίσι και παλαιογραφία στο ΙΠΑΜΙΕΤ στην Αθήνα.

Έχει πραγματοποιήσει τριάντα ατομικές εκθέσεις σε Ελλάδα, Γαλλία, Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο, ΗΠΑ, Βέλγιο, Γερμανία, Νορβηγία, Αίγυπτο και Κύπρο και έχει λάβει μέρος σε πολλές συναντήσεις τέχνης στην Ελλάδα και στο εξωτερικό. Η γραφή ως εικόνα, σύμβολο και φυλαχτό είναι ο τόπος αναφοράς των εικαστικών της αναζητήσεων.

Ζει και εργάζεται στην Αθήνα και διδάσκει παράλληλα σε εκπαιδευτικά σεμινάρια την τέχνη των γραμμάτων της ελληνικής, λατινικής και αραβικής καλλιγραφίας και την γραφή ως προσωπική εικαστική έκφραση.

Το εργαστήρι θα πραγματοποιηθεί στο στούντιο Γραφικών Τεχνών του Ευρωπαϊκού Πανεπιστημίου, Διογένης 1, Κτήριο A, 1ος Όροφος, 2404 Έγκωμη.

slanted magazine #30 - Athens, my participation

In the spring of 2017 the Slanted editors embarked on their trip to Athens to take a close-up look at the contemporary design scene there. At the same time, the Documenta took place for the first time at two sites. Athens, in parallel to Kassel, offered the perfect canvas: differences between rich and poor, between Germany and Greece, but also between different cultures in Europe, facing crisis, boundaries and displacement. All the designers Slanted met though talked very positively about the event, bringing back art and life to Athens, suffering from draconian cuts in culture budgets. The list of designers Slanted met with boasts everyone from legends to young, wild creatives who are creating exciting voices in their own right. Not only can you find their brilliant works in the new issue, Slanted also provides a deeper look at their opinions and views through video interviews that can be watched on our video platform for free!

koufic calligraphy in Athens

Square or geometric Kufic is a very simplified rectangular style of Kufic widely used for tiling. In Iran sometimes entire buildings are covered with tiles spelling sacred names like those of God, Muhammad and Ali in square Kufic, a technique known as banna'i.

We have worked on this script with Aspasia, Christina, Argyro and Dionysis
